Non Return Valve - Brass
These Non Return Check Valves are ideal for fitting as a foot valve on the inlet side of external pumps sited higher than water level. In the event of a power failure water is held within the inlet pipe and on restart the pump will have water available to prime itself and carry on pumping.
Failure to fit such a valve can often result in external pumps scavenging for water after a power failure and then over heating.
The smaller sizes of Brass Non Return Valves also suit being used to prevent water siphoning back in to Air pumps. If the Air pump you use is sited lower than water level then in the event of a power failure water will siphon back down the airlines and fill the inside of the airpump with water, resulting in terminal damage to the air pump.
4mm Check valves are also available to fit the individual airline
