With use, we have found other carbon of a lower quality can pack down inside the water purifier and can block up the internal filters of a water purifier. This can create massive back pressure wich can result in damaging the purifier.
The benefits of "Granulated Carbon" is to allow the water to pass over the carbon without restriction and to prevent the internal workings from blocking.
Be aware of cheap carbon containing excessive dust, we have found from our own experience this can block the internal workings of your purifier
